Biography
Marguerite A. Erme, DO, MPH is a 1977 graduate of Ohio State University with BS in microbiology, a 1981 graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a 1993 graduate of Ohio State University with a Master of Public Health. She was a board certified in emergency medicine for 12 years. From February 1996 until June 2004 she was employed by Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine (now Northeast Ohio Medical University) in the Department of Community Health Sciences and also served as part-time Disease Control Medical Officer for the Akron Health Department. She was the full-time Disease Control Medical Officer for the Akron Health Department from July 2004 through December 2010 and interim Medical Director from April 2009 through December 2010. She became Medical Director for the Summit County Public Health in May 2010 and has retired from that position in December 2017. Her main interests include communicable disease control and epidemiology, and emergency preparedness.
