Biography
Dr. Robinson is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Public Health Program and Coordinator of the Master of Public Health Program in The Dr. Dominic A. and Helen M. Bitonte College of Health and Human Services at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. Dr. Robinson is also graduate faculty at Youngstown State University and the Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health program. Dr. Robinson holds a Doctorate of Public Health in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences from the Graduate School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh, a Master’s of Public Health in Epidemiology from Saint Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Xavier University of Louisiana, New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Robinson’s research interests include public health interventions and epidemiological research addressing health disparities and inequitities, specifically dealing with chronic disease, among women and minority communities. Dr. Robinson served as an Association of Schools of Public Health/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention fellow at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Dr. Robinson is a member of the American Public Health Association and Society for Public Health Educations, national public health organizations. Dr. Robinson has authored a book chapter as well as manuscripts in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Robinson has presented at multiple conferences. Dr. Robinson serves on multiple community organization boards and is a Commissioner with the Ohio Commission on Minority Health. Dr. Robinson is committed to working with area agencies and organizations in increasing awareness of diversity/cultural competent issues within the Mahoning Valley and throughout Ohio.
