Biography
Dr. Little received her PhD in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University, completing her dissertation on Effect of Exercise Mode on Bone Density in Postmenopausal Women. She was subsequently employed for five years as a Research Exercise Physiologist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, OH, conducting studies on maternal and fetal benefits of exercise during pregnancy/post partum, as well as comparing body composition assessment methods in both adults and infants. Her academic career has included previous teaching positions in Exercise Physiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Youngstown State University. She is currently an Associate Professor of Exercise Science at Cleveland State University where she teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses including Evaluation in Physical Education, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Nutrition and Physical Activity, and Research Methods in Health and Human Performance. Dr. Little's primary research interest is exercise and bone density in women. She was selected as a member of the writing committee for the American College of Sports Medicine's Position Stand on Physical Activity and Bone Health (2004). Secondary research interests include exercise and pregnancy/post partum, and body composition assessment methods.
