GRE and TOEFL
You must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) examination if you do not have a U.S. bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of at least 3.0 or U.S. equivalent masters or doctoral degree with a GPA. The GRE is offered at several testing sites. You can find details on the Education Testing Service (ETS) website at www.ets.org. Select "GRE" then select "Register for the test" and find details under the "General Test" link.
Please use institution code #4753 (Northeast Ohio Medical University--CEOMPH SOPHAS) in the designated area on your GRE application form. This number ensures that the CEOMPH office will receive your test scores.
The Admissions Committee specifies that "acceptable" scores are used as criteria for admission; there is no set minimum score. Your scores are compared with other applicants and considered with your GPA and other application materials.
If you have international credentials, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam. The TOEFL is offered as a computer-based, paper-based, or Internet-based test in countries around the world. For more information about the TOEFL examination, please visit www.toefl.org.
Please use the institution code #5688--SOPHAS in the designated area on your TOEFL application form. This number ensures that the CEOMPH office will receive your test scores.
The minimum score must be 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based) or 79-80 (read/speak/listen=17, write=14, Internet-based).
