Biography
Dr. Tania Basta is Associate Director for the Appalachian Rural Health Institute (ARHI), which is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the College of Health Sciences and Professions. Dr. Basta is also the Coordinator for the Community Health Services undergraduate program at Ohio University, where she teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate level community health and public health courses. She is well published in the areas of HIV and mental health and HIV and exercise and has published in the following journals: American Journal of Health Behavior, the American Journal of Health Education, Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, and AIDS Care. Dr. Basta has served as Program Chair and Chair for the HIV/AIDS Section of the American Public Health Association and is currently the Immediate Past Char of the HIV/AIDS Section.
