Biography
In addition to his CEOMPH role, Dr. Moser holds a current faculty appointment as Professor of Epidemiology in the College of Public Health at Kent State University. His public health practice career includes service as Health Commissioner for the Akron Health Department (2003-2009), Kansas State Health Director (1999-2003), North Carolina State Epidemiologist (1995-1998), Assistant Chief of the Bureau of Preventive Medicine at the Ohio Department of Health (1990-1993), Kentucky State Epidemiologist (1987-1990), and Medical Epidemiologist, North Carolina Public Health Division (1980-1981). He has previously held academic appointments at The Ohio State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Kansas, and University of Kentucky. He is board certified in public health and general preventive medicine and in internal medicine. Dr. Moser is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed publications. He is a fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine and has a long record of professional service at local, state, and national levels. Prior to his professional career, Dr. Moser initiated his public service activities as a VISTA Volunteer in Nashville, Tennessee.
